Wednesday,
we stay parked for the night at cala salada. Around 12 am a cop car drives past. This time bot of us are awake and by the time they turn around Caleb rolls down his window and the car door opens. It is the same cop from last night! Ha! The cop says "looking at the stars again?" Caleb and I start to laugh. and I say"no, this time we are sleeping"! hehe The cop says "cheapest hotel on the island eh?" he waves and tells us good night and drives away. The Ibizan Andy Griffith type sheriff. haha
We both slept well. Man, its rough waking up to a sunrise on a nearly deserted tropical island beach everyday! but someone has to do it :)
We drove to camp vell and hiked and climbed a lot. We climbed to the top of this huge peak and had lunch at the very top. Then we climbed down another set of rocks to a natural pool and relaxed there for a while. It was cloudy off and on all day. We got lucky in that everytime it would actually rain we would be driving on the car. A Little cooler today though. We went to cova de can marca, a very old natural cave that was once used by smugglers. This is the first thing we had to pay for (besides food, and car) since arriving in Ibiza.
This cute little english boy named dylan was there for the tour with his aunt. He was hilarious! "that is beeeaautiful! hthat is magical!" he was like a cartoon. It made even the cheesy light effects man-made waterfall disco at the end of the tour worthwile. It was a cool cave non the less. I would get clausterphobic climbing in those 10-30 cm high tunnels those smugglers crawled in. crazy. We drove back to Eivissa to get gorceries and find internet. We hit both. The search of a beach to crash on...not so easy this side of the island. It took us over 1.5 hours to find a place to stay for the night. It was twice as hard because it was so dark already when we bgan our search, but eventually fate smiled on us and we found our semi-secluded beach. No cops or creepy boats either, bonus! It did rain like the dickens most of the night. Thats okey, cuz we are in a car!
