12/11/04

I bet you want to know what the exotic island of Ibiza is like?...
well, so would we. We got all packed up and took the train into the correct airport, double checked the times on the ticket, made sure we had a place to stay in Ibiza. Doing good right? We get up to the check-in desk and the lady looks at our tickets with a puzzled look on her face and says, "Did you know that these tickets are for tomorrow, the 12th?" And both Caleb and my jaw just drops. I am floored. What? We specifically told the travel agent that we wanted to fly out Saturday and pointed to the day twice on the calendar and re-specified that date. However, he decided somewhere along the way that we had chosen to leave on Sunday the 12th, not today. The woman at the check-in desk had said that there were many open seats available and perhaps the airline desk could help us. We go to the AirEuropa (the airline we are flying on) ticket desk to see if we can get our ticket changed. They tell us they can do nothing and we need to call the travel agent. So Caleb calls the travel agent and I speak to the travel agent and pleaded with them to change it. the lady there says that the plane is full (although the check-in lady said the flight was practically empty) and they can´t help us and the representative that made our arrangements wasn´t in so, sorry we can´t do a thing. Alright. So we call Emiliano and Alessandra and ask if we can stay with them another night. Luckily they said yes. so we got back on the train to Barcelona and unpacked our stuff at Em. and Ale´s. Good thing cuz the weather here was B-eautiful today. We actually went down to the beach and I stuck my feet in the now freezing cold water. But it felt sooo good to just hang on the beach and enjoy some sun. It was still only in the 60sF but very nice. We saw these guys painting grafitti near the beach. Really beautiful stuff. Before my camera got stolen I had taken many pictures of different styles of grafitti in all the cities we had visited up to that point. I was excited to print them out. I have a few new ones on our cheapo 35mm.
we are figuring out the city very well now. we can go anywhere we want to go quickly and easily using the metro line. but we are ready to leave...ibiza tomorrow for sure.
