2/29/04

This morning we slept in until 11am... ahh so nice. It was so dark and quiet that we were suprised at what time it was. We went and had "breakfast" at a little shop. We both had ham and cheese crosonts, I had a cream filled pastery and angie had a strawberry tart, wonderful. We explored the entire aquaduct and then we walked to the Inglesia de sasn lorenzo. It is a very old building dating back to roman times. Next, on the way to Iglesia De La Veracruz we came across this jogger. She had somthing really important to tell us and she thought that we were french. I am not sure but I think that she said somthing about the ice on the road and that she fell. In any case she yapped at us in spanish for over a minute and we pretended like we understood her and thanked her for the information. The Iglesia De La Veracruz is a mysterious building with origons unknown, but what is known about it was once used by the knights templar. It was just a short walk to the Convento De Carmelitas Des Calzos. It was closed, I guess that the nuns were taking a siesta. We walked back to our hostel through a beautful park that was by a stream and it had lots of waterfalls. We think that this is where the towns drainage comes to because it is a low point in the town. It was strange because it was warm down in the vally by the river, but as soon as we got back into town we could see our breath again.
