We decided to see the Alhambra today. Rick is sick with with a sore throat so we stopped by the pharmacy on the way there. Rick got some spray and some pills of some sort.
The Alhambra is a fortress from the 9th century. Its red frotress towers and walls appear plain, but whats inside is FAR from plain. The Sierra Nevada mountan range isnt a bad backdrop. The nasrid emirs of the 13th and 14th centurys turned it into a fortress/palace complex adjoined by a small town, of which only ruins remain. Even of their bathrooms! The General live Gardens and Palacio Nazaries were the two best things about it. I wish we could have our wedding there because it would have been a perfect backdrop. The Islamic decorative art is so intricate. Very beautiful. We didnt actually see it until after lunch because so many people had tickets today. I can only imagine how busy it is during the regular season. I can understand why though, it is one of the most amazing places we have seen so far! Seeing all of the Alahambra took us most of the day. We walked around and took photos until after dark(thanks to rickĀ“s digital cam) It was a great day, I got shoes for my wedding today! They are moroccan and so cool! Caleb is a sweetie melette :)
