4/2/05 Saturday Annecy-Savoie

The alarm went off at 7a. Time to get up and pack our shit before someone notices our tent in the park. No problem. We hiked over to the beautiful lake to enjoy the Sun coming up over the snow capped mountians before the tourist office opens. We are basicly in a Lush Phalli of the alps. Very near Albertville, site of the recent decades winter olzmpics. The tourist office opened at 9 and we were the one of the first in line. We got info about camping, hiking and busses. There are loads of hiking and biking trails in the Savoie area. Lots of Wooded areas and of course the mountians. We took a bus out to our new campground just outside of Annecy in Duingt. The view here is absolutely gorgeous. It appears everyone here rides a bike, walks a dog, or runs. Oh, and we noticed that there is a pretty carousel in every French ville. They are pretty, but it’s cute.
We spent the rest of the afternoon hiking. The trail started out paved and it ended up that we were doing some pretty nice rockclimbing.
