3/29/05

We awoke at 8A. I took a shower, they were nice and clean with reasonably hot water! We walked to the bakery that we went to yesterday to get breakfest. We had These meat pasteries and shared a pastry/tartlette thingy with peaches on top. It was so delicious. The French definatly have a way with bread and other bakery Items. There are several Sites of Roman runins in Arles. Apparently it was inhabited by the Romans for quite awhile around the time of Constantine and the dawning of Chritsianity). We bought 10 bus tickets as a way to tour Arles cheaply and provide Transport to and from the train tomorrow and the next day. Did we say that the weither here is righteous?! So warm that I am sweating. Hooray for springtime in the South of France.
We went to see the Theatre Antique, Eglise San Trophine and the Roman Amphitheatre. We did’nt pay to go into the Theatre and church, but we snuck into the Amphitheatre with an American tour group. We’re so crafty. Hehe. I am glad that we decided not to pay because it was cool, but it wouldnt have been Worth the Money. Inside though there is a tower with a Great view of the City. It was another perfect night for camping. Caleb Thinks that Arles is a romantic place...and I agree.
